DR. VIJITH SASIDHAR

The founder of the Sree Krishna Chikitsa Kendram, Dr. Vijith Sasidhar, has extensive knowledge of classical Ayurveda. His research background and experience in treating thousands of patients add a unique depth to his diagnosis and treatments. After having received his formal degree in Ayurveda, Dr. Vijith trained with one of the greatest preceptors of our times in Ayurveda Brahmasri: Valloor Nambudiri.

Dr. Vijith establishes a personal relationship with each patient. He investigates the physical, emotional and spiritual state of mind before undertaking any treatment. His deep and sensitive listening throughout the period of treatment is in itself a healing process.

The richness of his background manifests in an exceptional practitioner who is not constrained by the orthodoxy of traditional methods and embraces the universality of the scientific methods in Ayurveda. Fluent in English, he is well versed in his understanding of Western illnesses, psychological and emotional difficulties as well as ideas and concepts.

DR. VIDYA VIJITH

After graduating from the Ayurveda College in Trivandrum, Dr. Vidya studied some time with a traditional Ayurveda teacher.

As a practitioner, Dr. Vidya believes that a relationship of trust and understanding between physician and patient precedes all healing. She strives to empower her patients with strength of body, mind and spirit as she believes in the potential of self healing. As a life partner of Dr. Vijith, the two physicians create a compassionate environment for their patients and students.

PHILOSOPHY

Dr. Vijith Sasidhar and his team of physicians are firm believers in “heal yourself by knowing yourself”.

The philosophy of the physicians is to provide the utmost attention to each patient in diagnosis and treatment. As practitioners, they believe that the patient is a partner in the healing process.

A daily regimen is prescribed for each patient. In addition, patients stay in the same premises as the doctors, eat food specially prepared according to Ayurvedic principles and have the opportunity to establish a personal relationship with the vaidyas (physicians) which enriche their experience. One patient describes it as: “The complete change in life style provided me with the tools to live a healthier, happier life.”

As one of its kind, this institution offers treatments based on classical texts of Ayurveda. The physicians are guided by their intuition, and - where relevant - take into account the karmic aspects that play a role in the disease, when recommending treatments.

The institute's best practices include a thorough diagnosis of the physical, mental and spiritual needs of the patient, personal treatment by the physician, and utmost care in the preparation of medicines, many of which are hand made on the premises.
